Services For Older Women

We are seeking your ideas for services WHISC should provide for older women? Please email: carolinewillcocks@whisc.org.uk with your suggestions.

Weigh To Go

Do you want to lose weight or stop gaining? Develop a healthier relationship with food? Gain support? Then book a place on Weigh To Go, our new FREE 8-week weight management course. It starts Wednesday 4th October and runs until Wednesday 29th November (off half-term), 1-3pm .

Tuesday Classes

Our Acting class is not running from now on. Kate is having a baby! We wish her well and hope we can set something up again next year. Our Belly Dancing classes are also no longer running. Tara has kindly offered to run a class once a month in the New Year but, for now, we are seeking new classes to run on Tuesdays. So if anyone teaches Belly Dancing, Acting, or has another similar skill they would like to share with the wonderful women who visit WHISC each week, please email: kirsteensheppard@whisc.org.uk or call 0151 707 1826.

Cherish Project

Hannah and Jonathan Bullen came in to WHISC to donate the £700 they’ve raised by being sponsored to climb some of the highest peaks in the UK. The donation goes towards our Cherish project, which helps women who have lost a baby. Thanks so much to Hannah and Jonathan, and to Kelly who helped them set it up!

New Therapist

WHISC have a new therapist, Maxine, who provides Swedish Massage, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage, and Hopi Ear Candles treatments. She’s available for Monday appointments – booking available now.

Funding

Thanks to Liverpool Mental Health Consortium who via Twitter have highlighted that WHISC is one of many organisations who may lose some funding next year…

Just to reassure people, WHISC IS OPEN – even if we lose the grant from Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), we have other sources of funding. At the moment, WHISC is secure until December 2018 and we continue to fundraise to ensure our services continue well into the future.

Thanks to everyone for their continued support.

If you wish to volunteer as one of our trustees and help make the important decisions about WHISC, please give us a ring on 0151 707 1826. Meetings are held every quarter, in the early evening, and last about two hours.
