The Women’s Health Information & Support Centre (WHISC) is a charity dedicated to improving the health and well-being of women and their families.
When a woman walks in we will see them there and then. We offer services for every woman from a Listening Ear, Counselling, Brief Crisis intervention to a Knitting Group and massage and many more things in between. Last year we had contact with over 13,500 women. To keep WHISC running we depend upon the generosity of grant foundations and our very kind supporters. Established in 1984, our experienced and professional team are able to offer an extensive range of information, support, treatments and guidance services and we guarantee a warm and friendly welcome – why not drop in or call for a chat today?
Thousands of women have attended WHISC in the last few years many in desperation. Last year we provided over 2,500 ‘Listening Ear’ sessions, a no-appointment-needed service for women in distress.
Our Drop-in is the hub of all our services. From that, women can be referred for counselling, join free exercise classes, or sign up for health courses.
We work closely with other agencies, and make sure that women are referred for the help they need, whether that be a Domestic Abuse, service, Citizens’ Advice or refugee agencies. What’s more, during drop-in hours, any woman can come in and have a cup of tea and a chat.
It’s vital that WHISC continues this important work. Please help us help women, and make a donation.
